Canvasback/Columbia’s Once rides post-Oscar momentum to go #22-7, up 112% for a total of 48k, as it nears gold and enters the Top 10 for the first time.

JANET IMPOSES DISCIPLINE AT #1, BADU #2

Hannah Montana 2, Once Storm Top 10
A pair of soul divas captured the top two slots on this week’s HITS Album sales chart.

Janet Jackson’s IDJ debut, Discipline, gives the superstar her first #1 bow since All for You back in April, 2001, with a total of 178k.

That’s enough to top the week’s other big newcomer, Universal Motown’s Erykah Badu, who pulls a runner-up spot out of her hat for New Amerykah Part One, which enters at #2 with an impressive 123k.

The big story in the Top 10, though, is a pair of soundtracks, including Disney’s resilient Hannah Montana 2 album, which moves #14-6, +89%, and is now up to 2.8 million, and Canvasback/Columbia’s Once, riding post-Oscar momentum to go #22-7, up 112% for a total of 48k, as it nears gold and enters the Top 10 for the first time.

Asylum/Atlantic Records rapper Webbie’s Savage Life 2 bows at #4, just behind Brushfire/Universal Republic’s Jack Johnson, who dips to #3 after three straight weeks at #1.

J RecordsAlicia Keys (#5), Rhino’s Juno (#8), Sony Legacy’s Michael Jackson Thriller reissue (#9) and Universal Republic’s Amy Winehouse (#10) round out the Top 10.

Asylum/Atlantic’s Shawty Lo (#16), Dolly RecordsDolly Parton (#18) and MySpace/ Interscope One Tree Hill guest star Kate Voegele (#25) score the other chart debuts.

Aside from Montana and Once, Keys (+17%) and Juno (+21%) are the other double-digit winners, along with Hear Music’s Kenny G (#45-28, +27%).

Hitting next week are Arista Nashville’s Alan Jackson, Universal Motown’s Michael McDonald and SideOneDummy’s Flogging Molly (through ADA).
