The group is offering the best 1,500 seats at each venue for the Live Nation-promoted tour to fans who sign up at the band’s website, www.nodoubt.com, for a $15 per show “processing charge.” No Doubt Tour Club membership entitles them to purchase up to four seats for each concert. They also receive tickets printed on custom designed commemorative stock with the club member’s name on each, a logo sticker, a magnet, an iron-on and access to a special web page with exclusive photos and tour updates.
To eliminate brokers, fans won’t receive tickets in advance, but must show up at the venue, where they will be admitted after showing a government-issued ID with the name they used to order the ducats. Top tickets for all but seven of the shows, which go on sale this Saturday (3/7), will be priced at $80 (and the highest for any show is $90), with lawn tix for as low as $10 at 19 sheds.
In addition, every fan who buys a ticket at the top two price levels, will also receive downloads of the band’s entire catalog, including all seven albums.
“It’s scalper-proof,” Guerinot told the L.A. Times, explaining he used the system on recent tours by Gwen Stefani and Nine Inch Nails, claiming he got the idea from Bruce Springsteen. “It’s nearly flawless. You can control who gets the best tickets, and that becomes a tremendous disincentive to brokers. Most big acts charge more than $100 per ticket. This way, you’re getting to see the show at a reasonable price and the band’s entire catalog as a free add-on.”
