With only one release—Verity/JLG’s gospel artist Marvin Sapp—slated for more than 50k, it appears right now that Capitol Nashville’s Lady Antebellum will return to #1 for another week…at least until Island/IDJ’s Justin Bieber arrives next Tuesday (3/23).
Based on one-day sales reports from non-Irish retailers around this great nation of ours, Antebellum looks like it will sell in the 90-95k range for its platinum-plus Need You Now.
Sapp is the week’s biggest debut, outselling the next five challengers combined, with a total looking to be between 70-75k.
Third Man/WB’s White Stripes CD to their DVD documentary, Under Great White Northern Lights, should do around 25-30k.
ATO’s critically acclaimed, veteran
Indie punk-rockers (and Martin Scorsese favorite) Dropkick Murphys celebrate St. Patty’s Day with a 12-15k opening week, while Universal Republic’s Denver rap-rockers Flobots are en route to 10-13k for their sophomore album, Survival Story.
Mercury/IDJ’s touted
The market was down 3% vs. last week, down 8% vs. same week last year and still down 8% year to date.
Now, it’s time to leave it to Bieber.
