Taylor Swift One of Eight Finalists for Entertainer of the Year
Lady Antebellum led all nominees for this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be handed out live on CBS, Sunday, April 18, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The Capitol Nashville trio earned seven nominations, including Album of the Year for Lady Antebellum and Top Vocal Group. In addition, “Need You Now” was nominated for Single Record, Song and Video of the Year, while the band received nominations as producer for Single Record of the Year and as composer in the Song of the Year category.

Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood were next, with six nominations apiece, while Taylor Swift nabbed five noms, including her first for Entertainer of the Year, where she will go up against former winners Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood, as well as Brad Paisley, George Strait, Keith Urban and Grammy Best New Artist winners Zac Brown Band in the expanded, eight-person race.

Chesney, Paisley, Strait and Urban are all up for Top Male Vocalist of the Year with newcomer Darius Rucker, while Lambert, Underwood and Swift go up against Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack for Top Female Vocalist of the Year.

Lady Antebellum’s competition in Top Vocal Group includes Zac Brown Band as well as Little Big Town, Randy Rogers Band and Rascal Flatts.

Their fellow Album nominees include Paisley’s American Saturday Night, Underwood’s Play On, Lambert’s Revolution and Zac Brown Band’s The Foundation, while the Single Record nominees are Billy Currington’s “People Are Crazy” and David Nail’s “Red Light” as well as Zac Brown Band’s “Toes,” Lambert’s “White Liar” and Lady A’s “Need You Now.”
