DANIEL GLASS APPOINTED CEO
OF ARTEMIS

Veteran Exec Also Named Chief Creative Officer, Sheridan Square Entertainment
Artemis Records President Daniel Glass is adding CEO to his title, it was announced today by Sheridan Square Entertainment, the entertainment company started by Joe Bianco and Anil Narang.

Glass steps in for Artemis founder Danny Goldberg, who will remain associated with the label in a consulting capacity. A former President of Universal Records and EMI Records, Glass has had a hand in developing the careers of artists including Billy Idol, Wilson Philips, Sinead O’Connor, Jon Secada, Warren Zevon, Erykah Badu, Khia, Baha Men, Sugarcult and Susan Tedeschi. He is also a co-founder of LIFEbeat, the music industry’s AIDS organization and a founding board member of the Dance Music Hall of Fame.

“Working with Danny Goldberg has been a tremendously creative and rewarding experience both personally and professionally,” Glass said. “I am looking forward to making Artemis one of the world’s greatest cutting edge independent labels.”

In his new role, Glass will also be Chief Creative Officer of Sheridan Square, overseeing all marketing and A&R decisions relating to its catalog and label operations.

Artemis was named the #1 independent label by industry bible Billboard in 2000 and 2001. The company recently acquired a number of new labels, including Compendia (Gospel), Tone Cool (blues), Triloka (world music), and Vanguard (Classical). The Artemis roster includes the late Zevon, Steve Earle and The Pretenders. Releases slated for this year include albums from Ruff Ryders (Vol.4), Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society, Better Than Ezra and Little Barrie.
