Bad Boy/Universal’s Bad Boys II soundtrack album, featuring Nelly, P. Diddy and the rest, will score a big #1 bow with first-week sales of over 300k.

WEEK IN PREVIEW:
BAD BOYS, CHINGY, BROOKS & DUNN HOT OUT OF THE CHUTE

Three New Releases to Debut in the Upper Reaches of the Album Chart
As the tallying of sales reports begins in earnest, the latest “intelligence” (we use the term loosely) from our retail brain surgeons indicates last week’s prognostications are holding, for the most part.

To wit: Bad Boy/Universal’s Bad Boys II soundtrack, featuring Nelly, P. Diddy and the rest, will score a big #1 bow with first-week sales of over 300k—a number no doubt bolstered by the movie’s big, bad opening weekend.

Following BBII will be DTP/Capitol debut artist Chingy, whose St. Louis-style coming-out party, Jackpot, will prove to have moved at least 150k in its first week, putting it "right thurr" for the week’s #2.

Also kicking up dust are country vets Brooks & Dunn, whose new RCA Nashville set, Red Dirt Road, looks like it’ll log a solid 110k or so for the week and a Top 5 chart debut.

More on these exciting chart stories, and others, as they develop.
