BROTHER ART WHERE IT’S AT!!!

B2K Goes "Uh Huh" and Almost All the Way
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: They’re the toast of high schools nationwide, caused a teenage riot in a mall, have a best-selling single, get major fanzine/TRL/BET love and score this week’s highest debut on the Album Chart, landing at #2 on sales over 100k.

No we’re not talking about the winner of Fox-TV’s Celebrity Boxing, Tonya Harding, we’re talking about Epic’s Urban answer to NSYNC, B2K.

"The Epic team did a great job getting awareness for B2K with street marketing and video support," said HMV’s Jeff Davidson, who gets awareness with his B.2.O. "And it’s just now really getting on the radio, so it should keep going."

Speaking of going and going and going…for the second straight week, the darling of the Grammy Awards is the darling of the sales chart, as Lost Highway’s O Brother Where Art Thou? ST sits atop the Album Chart.

"The power of the Grammys continues; this album will be around for a real long time," said Davidson, who then told us that we had outstayed our welcome.

Maverick/Reprise’s Alanis Morrisette (#3), Arista Nashville’s Alan Jackson (#4) and Warner Bros. Linkin Park (#5) round out the Top Five.

The week’s other big debut is Roadrunner/IDJ’s soundtrack to Resident Evil. Coincidentally, "Resident Evil" is also what lots of people call this website.

Next week’s chart will be a hot one, with debuts from Def Jam/IDJ’s Jay-Z & R. Kelly, UTV’s Now Vol. 9 and Epic’s Glenn Lewis.

Epic keeps the heat on the following week, as Celine Dion returns, along with new releases from S-Curve/Capitol’s Baha Men and Universal’s Scorpion King ST.
