IN MEMORIAM

This might be the last place you’d expect profound thoughts on the anniversary of a national tragedy. We are neither heroes nor victims, brave nor noble, but we can’t stop marveling at the courage and character of all those—living and dead—who rose to the occasion on that horrific day. Not to mention the many who have given of themselves in the name of humanity over the course of this past year. Clearly, it’s something none of us will ever forget.
