DALY’S DEAL-IO

MTV Host and Loud Records Form New Label

Carson Daly has signed a deal with Loud Records to form a new label. In the deal, Daly’s yet-unnamed label will develop artists to be distributed and marketed by Loud. The new label already has a few acts in the studio, but is currently scouting for talent from all music genres.

"I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to run my own label. I’m always looking for new sounds, and my label will allow me to share some of the hottest up-and-coming talent with the world," he said. "

Loud CEO Steve Rifkind and EVP Jonathan Rifkind knew Daly in his DJing days, before his fame as host of MTV’s TRL and NBC’s Last Call.

"With Carson’s worldwide popularity and his genuine love and knowledge of music, not to mention that he’s a big-baller, shot-caller Pop icon, this venture should definitely be blockbuster," Steve Rifkind prognosticated. "And now we might even get VIP laminates at the MTV Awards this year! Woohoo!"
