Epic Records Group's "NOW 6" will debut next week at #1, with close to 400k in sales, based on first-day reports from retailers around the country.
The hits compilation includes tracks by Destiny's Child, Shaggy, Creed, Jennifer Lopez, K-Ci & JoJo and Lenny Kravitz, among others.
The series, which was launched in the U.K. by Virgin, has sold a total of 15 million copies combined in the U.S. and more than 75 million around the world. "NOW 5," which came out last November on Columbia Records, sold 444k OTC its first week on the way to a total of more than 4 million to date. (See related story hitsdailydouble.com).
Ginuwine's Epic album, "The Life," is on track to sell around 150k. Bruce Springsteen's double-CD live album on Columbia, "Live In New York City"—which will be accompanied by an HBO special this Saturday night (4/7) and two new songs, including the controversial "American Skin (41 Shots)"—looks like it will do 100k. Big Pun's second posthumous Loud record, "Endangered Species," is also headed for six-figure first-week sales.
Next week's hot releases include Interscope's Monster Magnet and Elektra's Slimm Calhoun, while 4/17 sees new records from Arista Nashville's Brooks and Dunn and Atlantic's Sunshine Anderson.
