Proving that HITS is always at least 30 days ahead of the press release, Rick "Whipped" Krim "And Other Delights" has been named Executive Vice President Talent & Music Programming for VH1 by VH1/CMT President John Sykes.
Krim returns to MTV Networks after six years as Senior Vice President Talent Acquisitions and Marketing for EMI Music Publishing, where he oversaw the promotion and marketing departments, signing and developing such acts as Goo Goo Dolls, Train, Tonic and The Verve Pipe. He originally joined MTV Networks as Business Manager in 1982, eventually becoming Vice President Talent and Artist Relations for MTV.
As head of VH1's Talent & Music Programming Department, Krim will be responsible for all talent, artist and label-relations activities, serving as the chief liaison between VH1, artists and the recording industry, and hearing all of Sykes' tawdry tales about the Clinton White House. Krim will also oversee all programming of music on the channel, including the development of new music video shows and detailing the company Volvo.
"We're excited to have Rick back in the fold," commented Sykes. "Of course, he's never slept in the Lincoln Bedroom like I have, but I hear he's got an in with the Dubya administration."
Said Krim: "Does this mean Ivana will start taking my calls again?"
