JAYSON GRABS GOLDEN FLEECE AT VIRGIN URBAN

Jayson Hired Despite Donning Hockey Mask, Terrorizing Teens at Summer Camp

Jayson Jackson "5" has been named General Manager of Virgin Records Urban by Co-Presidents Ray "A Drop of Golden Sun" Cooper and "Mary-Kate and" Ashley Newton.

Based out of the label’s New York office, Jackson will create, implement and execute Urban agendas for Virgin Records America artists, while maintaining and building upon the foundation already in place and learning to take tea precisely at four every afternoon.

Prior to this appointment, Jackson managed the career of Lauryn Hill and served as VP Marketing for Bad Boy Entertainment. He also had an extensive marketing career at Def Jam and Elektra Records.

"Jayson Jackson comes to Virgin with a proven track record in America, working Urban music of importance." Cooper commented. "His knowledge is a key asset, making him the ideal figurehead to run our Urban initiatives. And he comes cheaper than Tito or Marlon."

Said Jackson: "Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with and for some of the most talented and hardworking artists and executives in the business. Unfortunately, this is not one of those situations. Nonetheless, I am extremely enthusiastic about the opportunity I’ve been afforded."
