NCR Corporation and Savage Beast Technologies have teamed to create a new music retail self-service kiosk. The new NCR-Savage Beast kiosks feature more detailed and personalized navigation options for music consumers to use when searching for their ideal record.
Now, customers don't have to deal with store part-timers that don't know Elvis from Elvis Costello or Tha Eastsidaz' latest from the West Side Story soundtrack. The self-service kiosks include an extensive song database, artist information, audio and the exclusive "Focus Traits" application, which allows shoppers to search music titles based on the "traits" they find most appealing in other selections.
Said Savage Beast CEO Jon Kraft: "As excited as we are about our rapidly growing online business, the vast majority of music sales still take place in stores. We're taking technology that personalizes every shopping experience and bringing it to where customers need it most. Besides, folks get a real charge out of those touch screens."
