AND FRANKIE VALLI IS SUING THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL
Former teen idol Frankie Avalon filed suit Tuesday (8/22) against the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills, alleging the hotel used his name in a promotional campaign without authorization. Avalon, star of the ‘60s film "Beach Blanket Bingo," charged that ads containing the campaign's "Frankly, Avalon" slogan and the use of a look-a-like who plugs the hotel has damaged his reputation and his market value. Avalon seeks at least $350,000 in damages. "Do we care?" Hotel reps asked. "What's Avalon's market value anyway?"

THEY'RE BUYING IT JUST FOR THE MOCHACHINOS
Warner/Chappell Music is expected to acquire Nashville-based Starstruck Writers Group from Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock, her husband and manager, sources told Billboard Bulletin. Warner/Chappell will absorb Starstruck's 15 writers while staff changes are expected. Executives at Warner/Chappell are understood to be doing due diligence. In related news, regulatory bodies looking into the proposed Warner Music Group-EMI merger said the Starstruck purchase will have no effect on the deal since they've never even heard of the company.

We have all had sleepless nights wondering "whatever happened to Kenny Loggins." Well, the soundtrack veteran turned up to receive his due on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. More than 300 fans gathered Wednesday (8/23) to witness the unveiling of the singer's star. The ceremony was timed to coincide with this week's video and DVD release of "Tigger: The Movie," which features the Loggins song "Your Heart Will Lead You Home." At the presentation, Loggins said, "I'm all right… nobody worry about me." Onlookers said Loggins then had to cut "Footloose" while he flew through the "Danger Zone."

STRANGE BEDFELLOWS
Because no day is complete without something written about Eminem. Sultry British pop star Dido wrapped up her U.S. tour on Monday (8/21) with a surprise shout-out to made-for-tabloid-news rapper Eminem. Dido thanked the rapper for sampling her song "Thankyou" in his song "Stan," and thus bringing it "to the attention of the masses." In her on-stage thanks, Dido called Eminem a "charming little fellow," marking the first time that phrase has ever been used in conjunction with the rapper's name. A spokesman for the rapper said Eminem was consider filing a defamation suit against Dido for her comments.

WELL, THEY HAD TO GET MARRIED, DIDN'T THEY?
Rapper Mack 10 made an honest woman out of TLC's T-Boz. The couple got married in a private ceremony on Saturday (8/19). Also at the service were T-Boz's fellow TLC'er Chilli and rapper-actor Ice Cube. R&B singer Gerald LeVert was in the minority of guests who actually went by their given names. The couple is expecting their first child in November. No word at presstime whether T-Boz would take Mack 10's name in the marriage, thus becoming T-10.
