GETMUSIC GETS HOT AND SCRATCHY

Video Polling Feature, SXSW Turntablism Expo Replace "Dot-Com Survivor" Game Concept
Today, music e-tailer GetMusic launched its "Hot Or Not" music video polling feature. It allows users to stream five videos online and rate them from good (Hot) to not so good (Not). The results are revealed in real time--except votes cast by Florida residents, which are subject to multiple recounts before being discarded.

The launch of Hot Or Not features clips from Pop acts Britney Spears, NSYNC, Aaron Carter, Pink and Makaila, with hip-hop and rock vid polling coming soon.

Meanwhile, GetMusic will be representin' on the ones & twos at the SXSW Conference this week. The company is sponsoring a two-day event at the conference, exploring the rise of the mix DJ and the art of "turntablism."

The event will feature a screening of the documentary "Scratch," starring Brad Pitt as a fighter who trades in his gloves for a Technic 1200 and some dope vinyl. Oh, no, wait--that's "Snatch." Our bad, homie.

Nevertheless, there will also be a party/showcase and a hip-hop panel featuring scratching innovator Grand Wizard Theodore, Jazzy Jay, the Beastie Boys' Mix Master Mike and others.

In other SXSW news, several staffers from our esteemed publication will be drunk there.
