FURTADO TAKES THREE AT JUNOS

Considering The Exchange Rate At The Border, That’s Only Equal To About .87 Grammy Awards
In recent years, Canada's most successful export has been female musicians, as such popular Canucks like Alanis Morissette, Celine Dion and Shania Twain have certainly proven.

Well, judging by the winners of this year's Juno Awards, the Canadian woman continues to stand tall.

Newcomer Nelly Furtado dominated all nominees Sunday (3/4) at the Junos, Canada's top music awards, nabbing top honors for best single ("I'm Like A Bird"), songwriter and new solo artist.

The night's other multiple winner was Barenaked Ladies, who were awarded Junos for best group album and pop album for "Maroon."

Other winners included the Tragically Hip, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Paul Brandt, Terri Clark and Jann Arden.

American music fans were roughly as excited to hear news of the Juno awards as football fans were to find out that the BC Lions won the 88th Grey Cup.
