HOOKT HOOKS UP WITH PLATFORM

Companies Deny Rumors That They’re Just Huddling Together Out Of Dot-Com Fallout Fear
Hookt.com and Platform.net merged Monday (1/8), following four months of negotiations.

While the netcos will continue to offer separately branded Web sites, the companies said the integration would create a more efficient overall operation by sharing resources, including customer service, ad sales, content production and development divisions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hookt's founders, CEO Peter Griffith and Chief Strategic Officer Chas Walker, will lead the combined entity. Platform's founders, President Sang Lee, Chief Creative Officer Ben White and Chief Operating Officer Tina Imm, will serve as senior members of the company's exec team.

The union of the two companies represented yet one more deal this winter that did not involve the New York Mets in any way.
