SURPRISE! IT’S CLIVE!

Arista Founder Dances To BMG Meetings
April 13, 2000

Arista Records head Clive Davis made a surprise appearance at the BMG Entertainment worldwide conference in Los Angeles Wednesday.

Davis, who had not been expected to attend, arrived shortly after lunch, and presented Whitney Houston's upcoming greatest hits release to a roomful of BMG executives.

The two-CD compilation will feature Houston hits "I Will Always Love You," "All At Once," "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," "It's Not Right, But It's OK," "I'm Every Woman? and "How Will I Know." The package will also feature new tracks and remixes.

Davis, still apparently giddy from his big anniversary party, danced around the stage as Houston's new duet with George Michael, "If I Told You That," played over the speakers. The duet will be the first international single off the album. Other songs presented were "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" sung with Enrique Iglesias (set to be the first U.S. single) and a demo of "Same Script, Different Cast," which Houston sings with Deborah Cox.

Davis, whose contract with BMG runs out June 30, thanked the audience of executives, saying: "Here's to the future of everyone."
