A Review of the Action at Three Key Mediabase Radio Formats

Heyyyyy, buddy! Did you have a super-great Tuesday? We sure as shootin' did! Ready to review the action at three key Mediabase radio formats? OK, then.

TOP 40
No big surprise as to the Most Added song of the week at Top 40, as Republic captures the #1 spot out the box with Lorde’s “Team.” Hollywood has a big first week on Demi Lovato’s “Neon Nights” as well, and we saw a big second week on A Great Big World’s “Say Something” with Christina Aguilera (Black Magnetic/Epic), including a notable add at Z100. “Story of My Life” by SYCO/Columbia’s One Direction is Most Added for a fourth week and RCA lands two in the Top 10 Most Added camp with Pitbull f/Ke$ha’s “Timber’ (for an unheard-of SIXTH week) and Britney Spears’ “Perfume” for a second week. Capitol has a breakthrough week on Bastille’s “Pompeii,” and WB has back-to-back weeks on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “White Walls.”

RHYTHMIC
Republic
newcomer SoMo is most added this week, following a solid setup campaign. J Cole’s "She Knows” (Roc Nation/Columbia) was next, as this record looks to lock itself in before the holiday break. Epic has a great week, as Future f/ Miley Cyrus’ "Real And True" and Yo Gotti’s "Cold Blood" both grab several new stations. YG’s "My Hitta" continues to close out the more Urban-leaning stations.

ALTERNATIVE
Columbia
rules the roost this week at Modern Rock with Broken Bells’ “Holding on for Life.” The #1 Most Added track enjoys new airplay from KROQ, KYSR, WBRU, WROX and KMYZ, among others. XL, meanwhile, has another nice closeout week with Vampire Weekend's "Unbelievers.” We also saw a good week of new airplay for Basic Vacation (Capitol), Hellogoodbye (Old Friends) and Kings of Leon (RCA).
