Hey, Buddy! Let’s check out the action at a couple of key Mediabase radio formats, so you can look like a real smarty-pants all weekend.

TOP 40
Robin Thicke’s monster hit “Blurred Lines” (Star Trak/Interscope) should stay #1 for one more week as Zedd’s “Clarity” (Interscope) is just a few hundred spins behind going into the weekend. CMG’s Katy Perry will explode into the Top 5, up an astounding 2000x, with her megahit “Roar.” PRMD/Island/IDJ’s Avicii is moments away from the Top 10 with “Wake Me Up”; this breakout hit is having another 1000-spin gain this week. Lava/Republic’s Lorde is also up close to 2000 spins, and will zoom 24-17. Drake’s latest, “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” (YMCMB/Republic) is having a big week, as is Selena Gomez’s “Slow Down” (Hollywood).

RHYTHMIC
Jay Z’s “Holy Grail” (Roc-a-Fella/Roc Nation) is poised to take over the #1 position this week; congrats to Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness. Chris Brown’s “Love More” (RCA) joins the Top 10. Big Sean’s “Beware” (Def Jam/IDJ) is having a great week as well, while Macklemore’s “White Walls” (Macklemore/ADA/WB) and Sage The Gemini’s “Gas Pedal” (Republic) are also up big. Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” (PRMD/Island/IDJ), Becky G’s “Play It Again” (Kemosabe/RCA) and Lorde’s “Royals” (Lava/Republic) will all debut.

ALTERNATIVE
Lorde will continue her run at the top with “Royals” (Lava/Republic) as she marches closer to having the longest-running #1 ever in the history of the alternative format by a female artist. The biggest one belongs to Alanis Morissette's “You Oughta Know.” Capitol's Bastille is moments away from the Top 5 with their smash “Pompeii.” The real battle for Monday centers around who will enter the Top 10, as Glassnote’s Phoenix, Modular/Interscope’s Tame Impala and RCA’s Cage the Elephant are all separated by a mere handful of spins.
