PLAQUES ON PLAQUES WITH CODY JOHNSON
10/14/24

COJO Music/Warner Nashville’s Cody Johnson recently took to BMI on Music Row to celebrate his #1 hits “Dirt Cheap” and “The Painter.” During the festivities, the five-time CMA nominee was presented with two RIAA platinum plaques for the tracks, which are featured on Johnson’s Leather Deluxe Edition album dropping on 11/1.

The songs—each with noms at the upcoming CMA Awards—have also seen additional accolades, as “Dirt Cheap” earned songwriter Josh Philips the Storyteller of the Year honor at the People’s Choice Country Awards, and “The Painter,” penned by Benjy Davis, Kat Higgins and Ryan Larkins, was named NSAI’s 2024 Song of the Year.

Seen missing the all-leather outfit memos are (l-r) Johnson and WMN co-Chair/co-President Cris Lacy.
