GOD, YOUR MAMA AND JOSH KEAR
6/26/17

Josh Kear is sitting in a familiar place: atop the Country charts. The Big Yellow Dog Music songwriter earned his 12th No. 1 for the Florida Georgia Line/Backstreet Boys smash “God, Your Mama, and Me.” Kear penned the track with Hillary Lindsey (BMG) and Gordie Sampson (BMG).

“It’s hard to write career-changing songs, but Josh Kear has done just that over the years,” said Big Yellow Dog Music co-founder Carla Wallace. “I wouldn’t expect anything less from ‘God, Your Mama, and Me,’ which brought two musical innovators together. Each No. 1 is special, but having a hit with not only Florida Georgia Line but also Backstreet Boys gives it that boy-band cherry on top.”

Kear’s winning streak with Big Yellow Dog began in 2003. His previous chart-topping country hits include Tim McGraw’s “Highway Don’t Care”; Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk on a Plane”; Blake Shelton’s “Neon Light”; Frankie Ballard’s “Helluva Life”; Luke Bryan’s “Drunk on You”; Lee Brice’s “Drinking Class’; and Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” “Blown Away,” and “Two Black Cadillacs.” Kear also co-wrote LOCASH’s current single, “Ring on Every Finger.”

“God, Your Mama, and Me” is also Big Yellow Dog’s third Country No. 1 in the past three months, coming on the heels of Lauren Alaina’s “Road Less Traveled” (co-written by Meghan Trainor) and Josh Turner’s “Hometown Girl” (co-written by Daniel Tashian).
