THE BALLSTREET JOURNAL

I can’t believe the summer is almost over. The kids are a week or so away from going back to school, vacations are over and the sun is setting earlier. This time of the year always makes me sad, until I start thinking about college and pro football starting, baseball playoffs and the NBA—only a few months away. It’s an amazing time for sports fans. Summer is overrated anyways!... What isn’t overrated is the run Epic's Sujit Kundu is having. Team Kundu continues to hold down the Top 2 spots, as DJ Khaled f/Rihanna & Bryson Tiller’s "Wild Thoughts" (We The Best) holds at #1, while French Montana f/Swae Lee’s "Unforgettable" (Bad Boy) maintains the #2 position. Yo Gotti & Mike WiLL Made-It f/Nicki Minaj’s "Rake It Up" continues to move quickly, gaining 300 spins and climbing to #23. Travis Scott’s "Butterfly Effect" (Grand Hustle) is up 190 spins and now at #37. There’s a nice buzz developing on this one. Future’s "Incredible" (A1/Freebandz) slides inside the Top 50, and 21 Savage’s "Bank Account" (Slaughter Gang), which is doing really well at Urban, tacks on another 150 spins. They’re now impacting French Montana f/The Weeknd & Max B’s new one, "A Lie" (Bad Boy)... Republic's Gary Spangler and Davey Dee see Liam Payne f/Quavo’s "Strip That Down" add 215 spins to the total and land at #13. Jacquees’ "B.E.D." (Cash Money) just misses debuting at #42, and Metro Boomin’ f/Offset & Drake’s "No Complaints" (Boominati) is right behind at #43. It was up 100 spins. Jessie Reyez’s "Figures" (FMLY) gains another 115 spins, and is now a few weeks away from debuting. Marc E. Bassy f/Kyle’s "Plot Twist" is still developing, and is at #57. They’re impacting Amine’s "Spice Girl" this week... Over at Columbia, Ayelet Schiffman and James White take Dej Loaf’s "No Fear"—up 250 spins—inside the Top 10, while it moves to power at a number of stations. Calvin Harris f/Pharell, Katy Perry & Big Sean’s "Feels" sees a 320-spin jump, and lands Harris at #16. Lecrae f/Tori Kelly’s "I'll Find You" (Reach) is looking like the record we thought it was, as it moves to #22, up 245 spins. Calvin Harris f/Future & Khalid’s "Rollin" is at #32, up 80 spins. Keep an eye on The Chainsmokers’ "Honest" (Disruptor), which is doing well at Top 40, and is finding its way on a number of Rhythm stations. Have you spent any time with PRETTYMUCH and their debut single “Would You Mind”? It’s starting to buzz at Top 40 and will impact at Rhythm soon... Def Jam’s Rick Sackheim and Noah Sheer see Logic f/Alessia Cara & Khalid’s “1-800-273-8255” climb to #3, as the record continues to develop. Jay-Z’s “4:44” (Roc Nation) holds at #19 this week, up 100 spins. Right behind is 2 Chainz f/Ty Dolla $ign’s “It’s A Vibe” (Tha Alumni/88 Classic), which moves to #20, up 200 spins. That one’s rolling at Urban as well... Team Inca and Lori G at RCA have something special with SZA f/Travis Scott’s “Love Galore” (TDE). It leaps #15-11 and is up 375 spins. Khalid’s “Young Dumb & Broke” (Right Hand) gains another 200 spins, and is now #32. Goldlink’s “Crew” (Squaaash Club) is also gaining momentum, thanks to another 115-spin increase. It’s at #34. Bryson Tiller’s “Run Me Dry” (Trapsoul) is developing, and at #56 this week. It was up triple-digits… Capitol’s Greg Marella and Dixie Tipton have new music coming from Vic Mensa, as well as Stefflon Don & French Montana’s “Hurtin’ Me” (Quality Control). Make sure you spend some time with these.
