CROSSOVER
I’d like to start out this column by congratulating Nick P and Glassnote for the debut of Childish Gambino’s “3005” at #40 this week! It took 12 weeks, but now the momentum is really kicking in! This is a record that radio had passion for, but was a little gun-shy. Those who did support it early are reaping the rewards… Kudos also go out to John Strazza, Inca and Lori G at RCA for debuting new artist Tinashe with “2 On” f/ScHoolboy Q at #35, along with Pitbull f/GRL’s “Wild Wild Love” at #38. Other debuts this week were Adrian Marcel’s “2 AM” on Republic and Ludacris’ “Party Girl” on DTP/Def Jam… Well, Jason Derulo holds on to the #1 slot for the second week in a row with “Talk Dirty” f/2 Chainz. Lee L’Heureux and Warner Bros. also have Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong,” which is taking off at Pop already… Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia are positioning themselves for another #1 with John Legend’s “All of Me.” It was up 841 spins this week, going #6-4. Legend was also far and away the biggest increased record of the week. It’s going to be a dogfight with Chris Brown’s “Loyal.” Columbia also has Beyoncé’s “Partition” inside the Top 10, as well as DJ Snake & Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What” at #11. Both of those records were also among the Most Increased. Calvin Harris’ “Summer” is at #50 and looking to debut in two weeks… Back to RCA, who, in addition to Chris Brown, Tinashe and Pitbull, also have Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing,” vaulting #32-22, up over 400 spins. This is quickly becoming a “must play” record. Strazza, Inca and Lori G also have Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Main Chick” moving #34-29 this week, up triple-digits… Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer, and Scott Maness at Def Jam have Jay Z f/Beyoncé’s “Part II (On the Run)” moving #14-13, and right behind is Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst” at #14, up 350 spins. Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” (Grand Hustle/Def Jam) is now Top 15, surging nearly 600 spins! Moving into the Top 25 is YG f/Drake’s “Who Do You Love,” with Mariah Carey’s “You’re Mine (Eternal)” and Ludacris f/Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih & Cashmere Cat’s “Party Girls” on the chart and still growing… Sujit Kundu and Dixie Tipton at Epic have Future f/Pharrell’s “Move That Doh” jumping #38-27 this week, up over 200 spins. Epic also has Kat Dahlia’s “Crazy” at #33 and still growing each week. Kesington Kross’ “Gimmie Your Love” is developing each week, and Bando Jonez’s “Sex You” is impacting this week… Last, but certainly not least, Gary Spangler and Davey Dee at Republic have Young Money f/Drake’s “Trophies” quickly ascending the charts, now at #16, gaining 430 spins this week. They also have The Chainsmokers’ “#SELFIE” at #21 and Adrian Marcel’s “2AM” at #32, with Tiesto’s “Red Lights” just a few weeks from debuting. They’re impacting SoMo’s “Show Off” this week, and it could be the Most Added.
