That sound you heard Saturday evening at 10PM was a collective sigh of relief as Ayelet, James White and Columbia officially make J Cole f/Miguel “Power Trip” #1. It’s perfect timing as they seed out the new J Cole track, “Crooked Smile,” which impacts 6/17. They currently have Daft Punk “Get Lucky” jumping 17-12 and up almost 400x this week on the chart. Columbia also impacts the new Calvin Harris f/Ellie Goulding “I Need Your Love” this week, and be on the lookout for a new Krewella coming in the next few weeks... It continues to develop well on the Pop chart… Strazz, Beata and Inca at RCA are looking to be the next to reach the #1 summit with Justin Timberlake “Mirrors.” It’s sitting at #2 on the real-time chart, and #1 on the real-time BDS chart. They also have Chris Brown “Fine China” entrenched in the Top 5 and Miguel “How Many Drinks” at #31 (and getting new stations every week); meanwhile, they just impacted the Arriana “Sexy People (All Around The World)” f/Pitbull last week. They also have the Ke$ha “Crazy Kids” looking to get on the chart this coming week… Rachael Spangler and Dixie Tipton at Epic have done a tremendous job in developing the Ciara “Body Party” into a bigtime record. It’s sitting at #25 and id one of the week’s biggest growers. They’re also motoring up the chart with Sean Kingston “Beat It” f/Chris Brown inside the top 15 and getting more increases each week… If you’re not at least spiking the new Macklemore & Ryan Lewis “Same Love” track or have it as a night record, what are you waiting for? This act is coming off back-to-back #1 records, and this single is already on the chart and was up 425x this week.
