Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart has collaborated with Terrapin Station Entertainment on a combined art exhibit and digital auction from today until 8/3 in conjunction with the Dead & Co. Dead Forever Experience at the Sphere in Vegas. In related news, Jerry Garcia’s birthday is this Thursday, 8/1.
Bids on four of Hart’s pieces, including “Da Bolt” (pictured)—on display at the Venetian as part of “Mickey Hart’s Art at the Edge of Magic” exhibit—can be placed at EdgeOfMagicAuction.com. The exhibit closes on 8/11.
For a detailed examination of the Dead & Company’s Vegas residency, read Nick Paumgarten’s “Reckoning with the Dead at the Sphere” in The New Yorker. Highly recommended.
