British rapper KSI and The 1975 are battling it out for the U.K.’s Official Albums #1 this week as the former leads on streaming while the latter leads with physical. Over on singles, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande are currently on top.
The 1975 are #1 on albums at the halfway point with Notes on a Conditional Form (Polydor/Dirty Hit) leading on CD and vinyl sales. KSI’s debut studio album, Dissimulation (BMG), is at #2 but ahead on streaming and download formats.
Also eyeing a Top 5 debut is rapper Agust D, aka Suga from BTS. His second mixtape, D-2 (Big Hit), is currently #3. Further down, Gunna is poised for a Top 10 debut with Wunna (Young Stoner Life/300) at #6.
Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess is at #9 midweek with I Love The New Sky (Bella Union), and Badly Drawn Boy returns with his first album in a decade, Banana Skin Shoes (AWAL), at #14.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s collaboration, “Rain on Me” (Polydor), is leading this week’s race on both downloads and streams. The track is currently 7k chart sales ahead of reigning #1, “Rockstar” (Polydor) by DaBaby f/Roddy Ricch.
KSI could land three Top 20 songs in this week’s chart following the release of his debut studio album; “Dissimulation. Cap” f/Offset is new at #3, previous Top 10 single “Houdini” f/Swarmz & Tion Wayne rebounds to #11 midweek, and “Killa Killa” f/Aiyana-lee is currently sitting at #13.
