Taylor Swift is #1 for a second week in Blighty with “Look What You Made Me Do” (Virgin EMI) as follow-up “…Ready For It?” ends the week at #7. Over on the Official Albums list, midweek champs The Script have scored their fourth #1 with Freedom Child (Columbia).
The album outsold its closest competitor, Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic), by 2:1. LCD Soundsystem’s American Dream (Columbia) is a career-best at #3, while OMD earn their highest placing since ’91 at #4 with The Punishment of Luxury (100%).
Further down, Scottish rockers Mogwai are #6 with Every Country’s Sun (Rock Action), followed by Jake Bugg with Hearts That Strain (Virgin EMI) at #7.
Swift is this week’s highest new entry on the Official Singles Chart at #7, with the Top 5 remaining fairly static. “New Rules” (Warner Bros.) by Dua Lipa is #2, “What About Us” (RCA) by P!nk is at #3 and “Friends” (Virgin EMI) by Justin Bieber f/BloodPop is #4. J Balvin and Willy Williams have hit a new peak with “Mi Gente” (Polydor) rising four places to #5 while Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” (Polydor) enters the Top 10 at #9. This week’s highest climber is “Havana” (Syco) by Camilla Cabello and Young Thug, rising 13 places to #11.
