Universal Music Publishing Europe & U.K. prexy Paul Connolly has upped three key members of his A&R team.
Caroline Ellray becomes VP, Frank Tope moves to Senior Director and Mark Gale steps up to Director of U.K. and International. The team’s collective signings include Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Florence + the Machine, HAIM, CHVRCHES and James Blake.
"It would be easy for me to say that Caroline, Mark and Frank's stellar signings speak for themselves - and plainly they do,” Connolly declared. “But, above that, I think Caroline, Frank and Mark exemplify truly excellent A&R. For many years they've been instrumental in attracting the best artists and songwriters from the U.K. and beyond and I'm delighted to recognize and reward their own talents, commitment and professionalism with these key creative promotions."
For her part, Ellray praised Connolly as a leader who “nurtures a culture centered on music and songs and has a strict ‘no bullshit' rule. We get to sign and work with the artists and writers that we love and represent the music that we're passionate about.”
Each will now get an extra bickie with the afternoon tea service
