WHAT IT IS: Certified Depressant, Taylor Acorn’s first project in seven years, reintroduces her as a punk-pop powerhouse. The EP focuses on her struggle with anxiety and depression, finding solace in love and declaring that sometimes everything sucks. Several of the eight tracks were written with and produced by Dan Swank of All Time Low, while Hey Monday’s Cassadee Pope co-wrote single “Coma.” The vulnerability in Acorn’s songwriting, coupled with her powerful voice, makes for an authentic and relatable experience that resonates with listeners.
