WHAT IT IS: L.A.-based wildcards ALEXSUCKS are making a name for themselves in alt rock. Fronted by Alex Alvarez, the band is inspired by the garage/dance-punk revival and specializes in catchy lyrics. Fueled by a raw energy reminiscent of the ’90s grunge scene, ALEXSUCKS has struck a chord with their nine-song project, The Gutter, a U.S. headline tour and festival dates like Life Is Beautiful. The band is in the studio with legendary producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers) as they work on their next LP, dropping in May.
