WHAT IT IS: Nigerian-born singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold has amassed nearly a billion streams on his Def Jam debut album, Tequila Ever After. A&R’d by Def Jam CEO Tunji Balogun, the 18-track project infuses Gold’s signature Afropop sound with Afrobeats, R&B and amapiano.
