WHAT IT IS: Brooklyn native Lola Brooke has been honing her craft since childhood. At 23, she dropped her debut music video, a freestyle titled “2017 Flow.” Since then, with the help of Team 80 and Arista, the budding rapper-songwriter has made a name for herself with tracks like “On My Mind,” “Here I Come” and “Don’t Play With It” f/Billy B, the latter earning praise from the likes of Cardi B, SZA and Meek Mill. Most recently, Brooke performed “Don’t Play With It” onstage with Future and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
