WHAT IT IS: From landing his first publishing deal to working with his longtime musical hero, the late Guy Clark, Georgia-bred country artist Channing Wilson has come a long way since he started making music. He’s already worked with a variety of artists, including Tyler Farr, Luke Combs (“She Got the Best of Me”) and Jason Eady, and has performed with some of his musical heroes, including Tony Joe White and Chris Knight, and he joined Lynyrd Skynyrd on their farewell tour in 2021. Wilson brings warmly nuanced truth-telling to his long-awaited, Dave Cobb-produced debut album, Dead Man.
