WHAT IT IS: Recent Quality Control signee Gloss Up kicked off 2023 with her debut full-length mixtape, Before the Gloss Up. The mother of two, who has accumulated 37m+ streams, 24m video views and 1.3m+ monthly Spotify listeners, has made a big splash with her 13-track project, which boasts features from the Memphis rapper’s best friend, GloRilla, on “Bestfrenn,” labelmate Icewear Vezzo on “From Cross the Way” and HitKidd on “Mad 304.” Gloss Up also collaborated with HitKidd on his viral track, “Shabooya,” and on her 2022 breakout single, “DPWM,” which garnered 150k+ views on YouTube in less than a month and was cosigned by the likes of Cardi B.
