Dora Jar (Island)
8/4/22

WHAT IT IS: Dora Jar, neé Dora Jarkowski, kicked off her first ever live show in style, emerging out of a scuffed suitcase and onto the stage of a small London venue. Among the attendees was Billie Eilish, who praised Dora’s performance on Instagram before inviting the rising alt-pop star to support her on select North American arena-tour dates (including two nights at MSG). A sonic shapeshifter, Dora is part of her generation’s genre-blurring renaissance, blending bedroom pop, folk-rock, grunge and trip-hop, and earning praise from the likes of Remi Wolf, Charli XCX, Charlie Puth and Grimes. Earlier this year, Jar dropped her EP, comfortably in pain, and she’s returned with her latest offering, “Bumblebee,” further cementing her undeniable presence on the music scene.
