WHAT IT IS: 2022 is already proving to be a standout year for Corey Kent, who got his start in music at the age of 11 as the lead singer of a Western-swing band that opened for the likes of Roy Clark and The Oak Ridge Boys. On the heels of ‘21, his major-label debut, Kent’s non-album single “Wild as Her” landed in the Hot 100 after exploding on the streaming platforms, generating nearly 70m streams in just four months. The track also held the #1 spot on Apple Music’s Country chart for 10 days. A one-take acoustic version of the track with Carter Faith arrived on 7/15.
