WHAT IT IS: Vermont-raised singer/songwriter Noah Kahan has proved himself to be more than a one-hit-wonder. After releasing debut album Busyhead in 2019, Kahan dropped his heavily folk-influenced sophomore set, I Was / I Am, last September and has since amassed 1b+ streams across his catalog and toured with his personal inspiration, James Bay. “Stick Season,” from his upcoming project of the same name, represents a massive turning point for Kahan, who first teased the new music on tour last year. Rife with fluttering guitar melodies, inviting vocals and homey imagery of the Northeast, the album showcases Kahan’s vibrant lyricism and carefree melodies.
