Weston Estate (Arista)
5/12/22

WHAT IT IS: Named after an affluent neighborhood adjacent to their hometown of Cary, N.C., Weston Estate is a five-piece, lo-fi alt band made up of five best friends. Apart from first-generation Cuban-American vocalist Marco Luka, the band’s Srikar Nanduri (guitar), Manas Panchavati (vocals), Tanmay Joshi (vocals) and Abhi Manhass (production, bass) are all of Indian descent. Self-dubbed “ya aunty’s favorite boy band,” the group taps into the members’ cultural heritage, eclectic range of personalities and tastes to carve out a musical space that’s entirely their own. With 30m streams under their belt since forming in 2017, the band recently sold-out SOB’s in N.Y. and L.A.’s Roxy, a testament to their development over the years.
