WHAT IT IS: As one of the latest additions to Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free’s pgLang, in partnership with Def Jam, Tanna Leone made his presence known with woozy singles “Lucky” and “With the Villains,” accompanied by a Neal Farmer-directed noir music video. Leone made his label debut with the 14-track project, Sleepy Soldier, on 4/28. Led by the previously released track “Picasso” and his most recent single, “Death N Taxes,” the project serves as a bountiful introduction to the emerging L.A. rapper.
