WHAT IT IS: Hailing from Perth, Australia, Hauskey, born Andy Hopkins, has made a name for himself Down Under with his R&B-inflected vocals and groove-tinged bedroom-pop sounds. The singer/producer’s latest effort, Emilee—a three-act mixtape—follows his 2020 debut EP, Slow. A portrayal of Hauskey’s mental health “from low to high,” the pandemic-inspired project encompasses “a song for every stage, from utter depression to getting help to dealing with my self-worth and body image to seeing how things might be brighter,” as he puts it.
