WHAT IT IS: Rapper, TV personality and author Arkano, neé Guillermo Rodríguez Godínez, is a true multi-hyphenate. Originally from Alicante, Spain, the 26-year-old started rapping at just eight years old, when his sister introduced him to hip-hop, and he claimed the 2015 Batalla de los Gallos international title in Santiago. His quarter-final win over Dtoke in the competition is still the second-most-viewed rap battle ever on YouTube, pulling in over 45m views. In 2016, he set the Guinness World Record for the longest freestyle rap session, recording for 24 hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds. Releasing a string of singles from his sophomore album, which is set to arrive later this year, Arkano has solidified himself as a rising rapper to watch in 2022.
