WHAT IT IS: New Jersey native Nija had already penned hits for the likes of Beyoncé and Cardi B before she even turned 21. Two years later at just 23-years-old, Nija has picked up three Grammys under her belt for contributions to tracks including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me.” Now, the singer/songwriter is in the spotlight with her debut solo project, Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You. Executive produced by Jack Rochon (6LACK, FKA DRAM,Shelley), the R&B project takes cues from hip-hop’s confidence and pairs it with Nija’s no-nonsense approach. The 10-track set, which features previously released singles like “Ease My Mind (Come Over),” “Finesse” and “On Call,” serves as a proper introduction to Nija as an artist.
