WHAT IT IS: Country traditionalist Randall King’s forthcoming major-label debut album, Shot Glass, produced by Bart Butler and Ryan Gore, centers around a night out at a bar, with each song representing the specific perspective of one of those in the room. King, who co-wrote eight of the 11 tracks, is staking his claim as “a talented newcomer to watch,” as Rolling Stone recently noted. King’s masterful blend of timeless, traditional sounds and present-day country elements has already brought him more than 115m career streams.
