WHAT IT IS: Rising star Benson Boone has made a lasting impression since his 2021 American Idol appearance. Despite being a judges’ favorite, 19-year-old Boone left the show to focus on his artistry and has since solidified himself as an artist to watch. With a knack for writing unflinchingly honest lyrics and creating hand-drawn artwork, Boone likes to keep it authentic, evident in his major-label debut, “GHOST TOWN.” A poignant ballad, the track is filled with drums, guitar and piano—all of which are played by Boone—and serves as a proper introduction to Boone, who recently inked with Night Street/Warner Records and signed publishing deals with Saint Sounds and Warner Chappell. Upon release, the single garnered support on playlists like Spotify’s New Music Friday, Today’s Top Hits and Pop Rising as well as Apple Music’s Today’s Hit’s. “GHOST TOWN” is just the beginning for this budding singer/songwriter.
