WHAT IT IS: Montreal native Chiiild spent years honing a unique blend of pop, R&B, soul and jazz behind closed doors. He began creating music under his own name, Yonatan “Yoni” Ayal, in 2017 before adopting the new moniker in 2020 with “Count Me Out” off his EP, Synthetic Soul. Using music to unify people over shared personal experiences, the rising draws inspiration from D’Angelo, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd and Marvin Gaye, creating an expansive and timeless sound.
