WHAT IT IS: With the blueprint of Nipsey Hustle’s business acumen and artistic inspiration in hand, Bino Rideaux had his path set from the start. Born Brandon Rainey, the South Central rapper first garnered attention with a series of mixtapes, including No Pressure—an eight-track joint project with Hussle—followed by his EP 4. After inking with Def Jam at the top of 2020, Rideaux dropped “Pride 2 the Side,” his tribute to Nipsey, as well as tracks including “Brand New” and “BET.” His collab-filled debut album, OUTSIDE, which arrived last May, included spotlight single “Cold Feet” with Ty Dolla $ign. This versatile artist is advancing the legacy of West Coast hip-hop.
