WHAT IT IS: Splitting his high school years between playing drums, learning the guitar and bass as well as brushing up on his rap skills, Camino embraces history, pain, joy and more in his soulful, folk-infused pop sound. As an aspiring rapper, Camino moved to Atlanta, where he endured homelessness for nearly a year. After orbiting the B.o.B camp, he began working with Akon, developing his raw, unfiltered sound, and eventually landing a record deal. Following a regime change, the up-and-comer was label-less and broke in L.A., but the songs he carried caught the attention of Def Jam, which inked him in 2019. The singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist is now gearing up to reintroduce a new sound on his forthcoming 2021 EP and lead single “Burning Fire.”
