JESS BENKO BARES IT ALL
3/11/21

Indie singer/songwriter Jess Benko has unveiled her latest single, “worst enemy.” Arriving on 2/26, the mid-tempo track is layered with ethereal acoustics and emotionally charged lyrics.

Capturing feelings of self-sabotage, frustration and angst, Benko penned the earworm alongside Nick Lopez (Christian French, Dixie D’Amelio)—aka the self-proclaimed #1 patron of Saddle Ranch—and Izzy Perri.

“This song is a reminder for me not to let myself fall back into that stage of self-sabotage. While there’s comfort in shutting down, sometimes you have to be like ‘ok, it’s time to get my shit together,’” shared Benko.

Hailing from Toronto, the 18-year-old alt/pop songstress has been crafting a compelling string of ballads since 2019. Just shy of 1m monthly listeners on Spotify, the track was also placed in a number of editorial playlists, including Lorem.
