RCA’s Tom Odell is giving us all the feels with his latest track, “numb.” Arriving on 2/18 alongside a music video, the single is layered with Odell’s unadorned vocal over a sparse piano and electronic elements.
Marking his first release of the year, “numb” serves as a follow-up to 2019’s “Summer Day” and is inspired by experimental musician Mica Levi's soundscapes, synthetic textures and acoustic accompaniments.
In addition to his new single, Odell is gearing up to drop his fourth studio album later this year. Created alongside songwriter Laurie Blundell and producer Miles James, the forthcoming project will have a more electronic, bedroom pop sound and broader lyrical horizons.
With over 2.6b streams to date, Odell has also earned three U.K. Top 5 albums—including his platinum-selling and #1 debut album, Long Way Down—two U.K. Top 10 singles, an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year and a BRIT Award, among other accolades.
Steam “numb” here and feast your eyes on the vid below.
